Taralas Winery was founded in 2006 by the family of Dimitrios Taralas, continuing a family tradition related to vines and wine.
The winery facilities were completed in October 2008, and include a wine-making area with modern equipment, and a cellar where the wine ages in French oak barrels. The vineyards are privately-owned, covering an area of approximately 10 hectares. They are located on the foothills of eastern Mount Vermion at an altitude of 300 metres, where the soil and climate conditions of the area are suitable for the production of high-quality red wines.
The vineyard is cultivated organically in order to produce grapes with respect the environment. The varieties cultivated are: Xinomavro, Merlot, Malagouzia, Preknadi, Cabernet, Moschomavro, Negoska and Roditis.
